INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURE
COMPARE and DISCUSS
Compare and Discuss-1

First of all, we see figures that are clearly dominant in both compositions (the sitting man in the second picture, the mountain in the first picture). The dominance of these figures is achieved by enlarging their sizes. In addition, there is a counter balance in both compositions and this balance is achieved by the one-against-many method. (little men standing versus the big man sitting in the second picture, clouds versus the mountain figure in the first picture). In addition, it is possible to talk about a contrast in both pictures because when we look at the pictures, the big ones are on the right side of the page and the bigger ones are on the left. We see small and frequent figures, which shows us the contrast of big and small.
Compare and Discuss-2

In both photos frame is a main element,in photo A frame is used for emphasize the place that made for watching the sky and in photo B frames are used for indicating the paintings and also they used for ephasize the exibition places. In addition we can talk about figure and ground relationships in both photos. For example in photo A walls used as a ground and frame used as a figure. However in photo B there is a stronger figure and ground relationship which is achieved by walls and pictures.Walls are grounds and the paintings which are suspended on the walls are figures. Moreover we can see the overlapping relationship in photo B which is used for exibit the paintings. We can also talk abot the counter balance in photo B,when we look at the rectangular grops we can easily see that they are produced by a big rectangle and many numbers of smaller rectangles.
