Case Study: Casa Americana by Macias Peredo / Physical Models

In this assignment, we were expected to make a 1/200 scale model of the building that everyone was working on and a 1/100 scale model of the building's staircase. The material we used for this was 1 mm model cardboard. This was my first time making a model of a building that actually existed, and especially the fact that it was 1/200 scale made this experience very fun for me.
Collage Section

In this assignment, we were asked to create a collage section study using our previously drawn 1/100 scale section drawings. What excited me the most at this stage was that we were completely free to do this. We designed everything from texture selection to human silhouettes, and I liked taking on this responsibility. The background in the picture shows the actual location of the building, and I used Google Earth to find it.
Two - Point Perspective Drawing

In this assignment, we made a two-point perspective drawing of the building we had previously worked on. While making this drawing, we were free to draw by hand or digitally, and I chose to draw digitally with AutoCAD because I thought it would be easier to set and see the reference lines. The most challenging thing for me in this assignment was definitely being able to set the reference lines correctly because the number of lines was too many and they were too close to each other.
Plan and Section Drawings

In this assignment, our teachers gave us images and measurements of this building from different angles and asked us to draw the ground floor plan and section drawings of this building. This was an assignment where we could earn bonus points and I think it was very enjoyable because I like drawing plans. The difficulties of this assignment for me were to find the dimensions that were not given by looking at other measurements and to visualize the 2D drawing of the building by looking at the photographs.
